Whole-baked chicken in the oven is a popular dish, it is cooked very often, so there are a huge number of recipes, they are all beautiful in their own way.

Deciding to cook a new version of baked chicken, I remembered the recipe, which was prepared at graduation at the French school Le Cordon Bleu. The French love to add butter to all dishes, so this recipe is not without it. And what do you think, the chicken turned out incredibly juicy and tender.


Dietary chicken meat is very versatile in terms of cooking. Depending on what flavor you want to get, you need to prepare the chicken in different ways before baking. If you have enough time, I advise you to leave the chicken overnight in saline solution. To do this, take 60 g of salt per 1 liter of water and completely cover the whole chicken with the solution. And then it is best to bake the chicken at low temperature for a few hours, again, if you have enough time. There is a faster way – just rub the chicken well with salt on all sides and leave for 30 minutes at room temperature, and then bake.

I chose away when you don’t have to wait at all. Rub the meat with salt and pepper and add fresh rosemary for flavor. But the main secret is that I melted butter and watered the chicken with it every 15 minutes. It turned out incredibly tasty and tender! As for the chicken itself, it is better to buy it in branded packaging from the manufacturer, so you can be sure that no one touched the meat with his hands. If you prefer a non-packaged product, then choose branded stores where the manufacturer controls the quality of your product.

1 chicken
200 g of butter
5 sprigs of rosemary
4 large potatoes
salt to taste
Chicken Baked with Ghee: A STEP-BY-STEP RECIPE

Prepare all the ingredients for a baked chicken with rosemary and ghee. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.

Wash the chicken and remove excess fat, if any. Put 5 sprigs of rosemary inside and rub the chicken with salt.

Peel 4 large potatoes and cut them into slices. Add salt to taste.

Put the chicken in a baking dish, put the potato slices on the sides. Place in a preheated 180-degree oven in convection mode for 15 minutes.

Melt 200 g of butter in a small saucepan.

After 15 minutes, pour the chicken with melted butter and put it in the oven for another 1 hour and 10 minutes. Every 15 minutes, water the chicken with melted butter from the bottom of the pan.
