If you notice that your mood is deteriorating in the middle of the day, and for no reason at all, you should reconsider your diet.
1. Dependence on caffeine
When we feel the need for caffeine every day, the body’s functioning begins to depend on it. According to research, the lack of caffeine helps reduce serotonin, which will cause anxiety, irritability, and inability to concentrate.
2. Alcohol consumption
Most of us know that alcohol is a sedative, but we drink without thinking about the consequences: it slows down thoughts, speech, movements. Alcohol abuse contributes to a temporary increase in serotonin levels in the brain, however, it also affects receptors, causing them to decrease.
3. Consumption of large amounts of fried food
Sometimes, to feel better, we treat ourselves to pastries, ice cream, chips. But in fact, the feeling of pleasure lasts only at the time of eating, and as soon as it passes – we regret it. You have no idea what these products do to your mental health. In addition, they cause weight gain, contribute to depression.
4. Salt consumption
If you consume a lot of salt, your heart is harder to work with. Therefore, when cooking at home, add only herbs and spices to flavor instead of salt.
5. Lack of breakfast
Many of us are used to replacing breakfast with coffee because we don’t have time or we don’t feel hungry in the morning. However, this can lower your blood sugar, making your brain work slower. Do not be lazy to prepare a light breakfast, your body and mind thank you for it.
