In early 2018, the billionaire, speaking at the SXSW technology show in Austin, announced his intention to launch a rocket to Mars in the first half of 2019.
In case of successful tests, the super-heavy rocket will be used to deliver people and equipment. According to Musk’s forecasts, SpaceX could organize flights to the Red Planet by 2022.
