Facebook commented on rumors of a name change

Joe Osborne, a spokesman for Facebook, responded to reports in the media that the social network was changing its name.

All rumors were refuted by him. This was revealed in the press service’s answer to a request from the media. It was previously rumored that Facebook was considering changing its name to reflect the metaverse’s development.

– It is stated in the statement that we do not comment on rumors and suspicions.

The Verge previously reported that the change of name will be revealed by Mark Zuckerberg, the network’s creator, at the company’s annual conference on October 28. It is unknown what the new name will be. As part of a proposal to establish a metaverse, the American firm Facebook plans to generate around 10,000 jobs. The firm is presently developing a new computer platform that incorporates virtual and augmented reality.

The collapse of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp in early October was the largest in the previous decade. At 7 p.m., millions of people across the world were left without access to social media. As a result, Mark Zuckerberg, the company’s CEO, lost $7 billion, and the company’s stock price plummeted.
