Ford will launch unmanned taxis at the end of 2021

Miami residents will be the first to use the new service.

Ford, together with the developer of unmanned technology Argo AI, spoke about the planned launch of unmanned taxis, which can be used by users of the online taxi service Lyft. This was reported by The Verge.

If all goes according to plan, that at the end of this year, unmanned taxis will be able to residents of Miami, and in 2022, and residents of Austin. At first, there will be about 100 Ford unmanned taxis in the fleet. However, the company plans to increase its fleet 10 times in five years. It is noted that 2.5% of Argo AI shares will be acquired by Lyft and will also provide travel data.
