There is almost no connection between social networks and the attitude of teenagers to life. Their problems are due to relationships in real life.
99.75% of life satisfaction does not depend on the use of social networks. To understand this, they studied the behavior of 12,000 adolescents aged 10-17. The study lasted from 2009 to 2017.
Researchers from the University of Oxford asked children how much time they spend on social media on a regular school day, and also asked them to assess how satisfied they are with various aspects of life, such as relationships with parents.
Researchers have found that girls spend more time on social media than boys, but none of them is significantly affected. Family, friends, and the situation at school turned out to be much more important – they form life satisfaction.
