In Brussels, doctors began prescribing free trips to museums and galleries to people whose mental state had deteriorated during the pandemic.
This practice is part of a test program organized by the city authorities for three months. This was reported by The Guardian. At present, people with the necessary purpose can get to the Center for Contemporary Art, the Museum of Fashion, and other cultural institutions. The same practice has proven successful in the Canadian city of Quebec, where patients can be assigned up to 50 museum visits a year. According to Dolphin Huba, a spokeswoman for the Brussels Council for Culture and Tourism, art is good for mental and physical health and helps fight stress and burnout due to a pandemic.
