Ericsson conducted research and found out how 5G will affect the ecology of the planet.
The report says that efficient data transfer will affect the number of carbon emissions.
Research has shown that a more efficient method of transmission will reduce carbon emissions. The report states: With the active introduction of 5G in the four “dirtiest” sectors – electricity, transport, manufacturing, and construction – the amount of CO2 emissions in the European region will be reduced by 55-170 million tons. This is equivalent to removing 35 million cars from the roads. It is noted that with the full transition to 5G in the EU by 2030, carbon emissions will be reduced by about 550 million tons per year. Connecting to the grid directly will reduce carbon emissions.
