Stress usually creeps in unnoticed when you least expect it, and what the rebuff will be is only half the battle.
Winning an entire war depends on what you do in your spare time. If you do not know how to rest properly, stress can overwhelm you, and then getting rid of it is very difficult. The ability to control one’s emotions and keep calm under pressure is closely linked to the performance of one’s work. The consulting company TalentSmart conducted a study involving more than a million people and found that 90% of successful people are able to control their emotions, and stay calm and productive in difficult situations.
Stress usually creeps in unnoticed when you least expect it, and what the rebuff will be is only half the battle. Winning an entire war depends on what you do in your spare time. If you do not know how to rest properly, stress can overwhelm you, and then getting rid of it is very difficult.
So, as it turned out, you just need to learn to relax and rest.
1. Exercise
Don’t have time for exercise for a week? But on weekends you have 48 hours to play sports. Even 10 minutes of light exercise will help your body relieve stress. In addition, exercise promotes new ideas. Successful people know that creative ideas come up faster if they spend time outdoors.
2. Minimize household/homework
Doing homework can take up all your free time. This means that you will not have time to rest and think, so the weekend will be like a weekday, that is – a 7-day work schedule. To avoid this situation, “stretch” homework, cleaning, gardening, etc., for a week, and if you fail to do it, then finish everything on the weekend.
3. Learn to live without computers and telephones
This item is probably the most important on the whole list. If you spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week working, then stress will start to haunt you. So learn to separate it from rest, and try to spend as little time on the weekend as possible on the computer and phone.
4. Find a hobby
If you have a hobby, you will be amazed at how much something can engulf you. Reading, drawing, music or even playing with children helps to avoid stress and think in a new way. Thanks to the work that causes you admiration, you will feel good for a long time.
5. Spend time with family
It is very important for each of us to spend time with our loved ones, which will help us to recharge and relax. Weekdays are so chaotic that the whole week can go unnoticed and there may be no time for family. However, do not let this happen. Take a walk with the children in the park, go to the cafe with your partner, and visit the parents. As a result, you’ll be glad you did.
6. Plan small adventures
Buy tickets to a concert or show or go to the movies. Instead of running on a treadmill, plan a hike in the mountains. Try something you’ve never done before. Research shows that planning something enjoyable helps to relieve stress.
7. Wake up at the same time
Very often we wait for the weekend to sleep longer. But in fact, if you get up at 7 on weekdays and sleep until noon on Saturdays and Sundays, it negatively affects your body and general well-being and can cause depression. This means that a few extra hours of sleep on the weekend can only spoil your mood and cause fatigue. If you want to sleep longer, learn to go to bed earlier.
8. Get ready for next week
The weekend is a great time to plan for next week. Set aside at least 30 minutes for this, and from Monday you will feel that you manage your time better and are more productive.
If you like the material, tell your friends about it. Thank you!
